NT scan test

Also called nuchal translucency, 11-14 week scan

An ultrasound measuring fluid at the back of the baby's neck.

Why it's done

Combined with the double marker to screen for chromosomal conditions at 11–14 weeks.

What a high result can mean

A thicker NT raises the screening risk; your doctor may offer further tests.
