Rubella IgG test

Also called rubella, German measles

Antibodies showing you are immune to rubella (German measles).

Why it's done

Before or early in pregnancy; rubella in early pregnancy can harm the baby.

What a high result can mean

Positive is good: you are immune.

What a low result can mean

Not immune: get the MMR vaccine before pregnancy (not during), and avoid contact with rubella.
